Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide a basic knowledge of biochemistry. The course begins with a introduction to enzymology and metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids and nitrogen-containing compounds. The subsequent lectures are aimed at introduction to molecular physiology and intercelular communication.
Ability to apply knowledge of biochemistry in other chemical and related disciplines
Prerequisites
Secondary school chemistry.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam

Commanding of the basics of selected parts of biochemistry with respect to the necessary understanding of inorganic, organic and physical chemistry
