Course content
1.Chemical Nomenclature, composition and structure of substances. Periodic system of elements. 2.Construction of substances, chemical bond, a weak binding interaction, binding of biopolymers. 3. Chemical action, types of chemical reactions. Reaction kinetics, catalysis, enzymes. Energy chemical reactions. 4.The chemical balance, the equilibrium constant, the principle of action and reaction. Solutions, colloidal system. Reaction in the electrolyte solution, dissociation water and pH. 5.Biogenic elements, oxygen and hydrogen, water, a summary of the relevant compounds. 6. Chemistry of carbon, a significant agricultural compounds in the cycle of nature. 7. Chemistry of nitrogen and phosphorus, agriculturally important compounds, cycling in nature. 8. List of metals, trace elements and their ecological importance, the atmosphere. 9. The composition and properties of organic compounds, isomerism. 10. List of organic compounds and their relationship to various groups natural substances. Fundamentals org.názvosloví. 11. Carbohydrates, properties and functions of individual groups of carbohydrates in living organisms 12. Lipids, composition, properties and biological importance of lipids. 13. Amino acids, peptides, proteins, properties and functions in living organisms. 14. Synthetic macromolecular compounds, degradation of plastics.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)
  • Class attendance - 16 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 50 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 90 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to consolidate the fundamental chemistry knowledge on the level, which allows to understand the principle of natural processes and the necessity of the preservation of the environment.
Graduates will receive a basic knowledge of general-, inorganic-, and organic chemistry.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of chemistry.
