Course content
Sylabus: 1. Anatomy: a plant cell structure, cell organels, plant tissue. 2. Plant morfology: root, stem, leaf, flower, seed, fruit. 3. Vegetative and generative plant organs. 4. Pollynation and fertillization, fruit types. 5. Algae, mosses, ferns and vascular plants - specific of individual units. 6. Gymnospermous and angiospermous plants. 7. Reproductive systems and plant variabillity. 8. Diasporology: plant spreading. 9. Anatomy, morfology and ecology by water and marsh plants. 10. Ecologic and economic importance of the plants in angling and water protection. 11. Important water and marsh plant specie of the Czech Republic. 12. History of botany 13. Biomes

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)
  • Preparation for credit - 30 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 40 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 25 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 56 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to provide to the students a basic survey about main botany fields. Students should use these peaces of knowledge in the next studium of an angling and water protection.
After this subject experience the students should orient in plant system without problems. Depending on the field of study the student will know the principal morphologic and physiologic differences between plants living in different localities. They shouldn't have any problems with plant specie determination. Student will have a genral survey in botany in the global scale.

Basics of the ecology, highschool biology

Student performance assessment, Combined exam

1. Fieldwork lesson and excursion presence. 2. Plant recognizing. 3. Herbarium elaborating.
