Course content

Structural genomics, organization and structure of genome. Functional genomics. Comparartive, population genomics, metagenomics. New methods of genome analysis, NGS. Transcriptomics. Maping of genome. Identification and isolation of genes. Gene regulation of important traits. Editation of genome, methods. Regulation of gene expression. Bioinformatics. Genome selection. Microarrays, SNPs. GBLUP-AM. Multi- and one-step aproach. Non-linear genome selection. Imputation. Factors affecting the reliability of GS. Perspectives, whole genome sequencing. Comparation of MAS and GS. GWAS. Metabolomics, nutrigenomics, pharmakogenomics. Supports will be published continuously on the Moodle application.

Learning outcomes
|
The goal is to give the students general knowledge on the trends in genomics, molecular genetics, gene and genome analysis of farm animals, gene regulation of economically important traits, and use of genomics in practice.
Knowledge of animal genomics applicable in breeding practice.

Passing of genetics, molecular biology, genomics, population genetics in previous magister study.
