Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Monitoring, Demonstration, Practical training
  • Preparation for classes - 40 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 40 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 70 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to learn the basic characteristics of crop production in the Czech Republic. The most important representatives of each group of crops (cereals, legumes, oilseeds, root crops) are selected and the basic principles of cultivation are discussed.
During the course, the student will acquire professional and practical basics of cultivation of major field crops grown in the Czech Republic.
Prerequisites
Acquired high school knowledge of biology and basic principles of crop production. Previous study of the fundamentals of field crop growing is an advantage but not a prerequisite for enrollment in the course.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination

Participation in practical exercises, practical skills of field crop identification at seed and plant level, preparation of semestral thesis.
