Course content
|
Specifics of agricultural production in less favoured areas.. Characteristics of crops, their classification, peculiarities of their cultivation and use. Growing of minority cereals, pseudo-cereals, legumes, oilseeds, root crops, the most important medicinal plants. Non-food utilization of crops. Biology, growth and development, varietal composition, cultivation technology and conditions for cultivation.

Learning outcomes
|
The subject of the doctoral study program. The aim of the subject is to provide knowledge about growing, composition and utilization of minority crops and about their importance in agriculture.
Students will expand current information in the field of growing of special and alternative plant species suitable for the conditions of the Czech Republic - and knowledge of their importance, biology, cultivation technology, processing and possibilities of food and non-food use.
