Oil crops: Winter rape - economic importace and processing, position in plant production, plant biology, yield formation and its structure, growth and development, ecological conditions, varieties and seed, crop management and technology, harvest and storage. Importance, biology and crop management of poppy and sunflower. The trend of root crops growing in Evrope and the Czech Republic. Root crops in crop rotation, the meaning for human, farm animals and industry. Sugar beet - history, biology, yield potencial, growth and development. Economic condition of growing of sugar beet in the Czech Republic and Europe. Conditions of yield formation, varieties and seed, technology of growing, harvest and storage. Potato - meaning for human. History of growing. Growing in the Czech Republic and Europe. Yield potential, growth and development, and economic condition of growing. The course includes growing oil crops and root crops. The aim is to obtain knowledge about principles of field crops production and economic conditions of their growing.
