Course content
Morphology, anatomy, physiology and insect development, attribute of insect populations, population dynamics of insects, insect gradations, natural pest control, interaction between insect and plants, systematic review of agriculturally important insect taxa, basics of plant acarology and nematology, key pests of the most important crops and cultures - determinations and bionomics. Methods and strategies for pests control. Symptoms of plant diseases, causes and pathogens of plant diseases (viruses, mycoplasms, bacteria, fungi), relation between plants and pathogens, pathogen inoculum transmission and propagation, diagnosis, taxonomy of pathogens, life cycles of pathogens, the main diseases of agriculture crops, vegetables, orchards and grapevine. Fundamentals of Integrated Pest Management of pests and diseases.

Learning outcomes
The aim of course is obtain fundamental knowledge of general plant health care zoology and phytopathology, recognize fiction of insect pests, mites and nematodes in target agroecosystems and also get survey about most important pathogens cause diseases of field and garden crops.
Students will be able to orientate in the field of plant health care, especially on plant diseases and important pests of agricultural crops.

Standard knowledge of biology and microbiology
