Course content
|
The origin of fruit species, pomological diversification, botanical characterisation. Stock of fruit trees and shrubs, their main features and use. Root, stem and crown of trees, anatomy and morphology. Type of organization of orchards, cultivars of fruit trees. Nutrition in orchards. Vegetable growing in ČR in comparison with EU. Propagation of vegetable plants, principles of growing, harvesting of vegetables. Fertilization and nutrition of different vegetables. Vegetable species sequency in field conditions and in glashouse. Harwesting of vegetable. Growing of vegetables with stalks, root vegetables, fruit and seed vegetables, bulb and stem vegetables, leaf vegetables and of perennial vegetables.

The aim of this course is the importance of fruit and vegetable growing, its chemical composition, biological value in human nutrition.

Oral examination
Active participation in exercises, protocols from laboratory exercises, understanding the curriculum defined for the exam.
