Course content
|
1. Introduction to the diagnostics of motor vehicles, overview of basic methods. 2. Performance parameters of internal combustion engines, classical methods, measuring equipment. 3. Dynamic methods of performance parameters measurements. 4. Fuel consumption, economy in consumption, methods. 5. Diagnostics of fuel-delivery systems of ignition engines. 6. Diagnostics of fuel systems at compression ignition engines. 7. Emissions of internal combustion engines, current global and regional conditions, trends. 8. Methods and equipment for emissions testing. 9. Emission testing due to homologation of vehicles (global and regional trends). 10. Engine testing during regular MOT tests (global and local trends). 11. Diagnostics of control units, actuator mechanisms and sensors and electric equipment. 12. Diagnostics of chassis, transmission units and brakes. 13. Diagnostics of motor oils and transmission oils. 14. Diagnostic systems.

Boršov Requirements to get the credits: 1. Participation - max. 2 unauthorised absences, completion and presentation of seminar papers, average grade from a test: 3 and better 2. When one condition is not met, another seminar paper on a given topic must be worked out, when the absence is higher than 50% the credits will not be given Exam - written test with 10 questions from which 2 are counting exercises, oral exam based on the result of the written part
