Course content
1. Introduction to the quality and machines reliability. 2. Technical service, machine maintenance, engineering inspection. 3. Failure probability, failure-free operation. Diagnostic methods, control systems. 4. Material defects, ferrography. 5. Repairs of shape and surface, surface straightening, welding. 6.. Fuel and oils for diesel engines. 7. Control of chassis and tires (including geometry of axles). 8. Combustion engines - maintenance, repairs and diagnostics. 9. Fuel supply to compression ignition engines, parameters setting, fuel consumption. 10. Electrical components - accumulator, charging, starter. 11. Air-management systems, hydraulic circuits - failures and diagnostics. 12. Evaluation electronics and sensors - dashboard instruments. 13. Logistics in services, optimization of logistical supply chains. 14. Economy in service care.

Learning outcomes
This course focuses on clarification of basic methods and techniques of identification the best and optimal way to handle any agricultural machine (making decisions either on repairs or their service).
The student is able to apply the knowledge, received during the study, specified in the part: Content of the syllabus.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

Requirements to get the credits: 1. Participation - max. 2 unauthorised absences, completion and presentation of seminar papers, average grade from a test: 3 and better 2. When one condition is not met, another seminar paper on a given topic must be worked out, when the absence is higher than 50% the credits will not be given Exam - written test with 10 questions from which 2 are counting exercises, oral exam based on the result of the written part
