Course content

1. Joining machine parts, permanent and temporary joints, screws and screw joints, threads, threads designation. 2. Coupling studs, pins, wedges, keys, key spline shafts. 3. Rivet joints, types of rivets. 4. Welded joints, soldered and glues joints. 5. Pressed joints. 6. Flexible joints. 7. Mechanical and friction gears. 8. V-shaped belt transfer. 9. Rope and chain transfer. 10. Toothed wheel transfer and toothed wheel types. 11. Pins, radial bearing pins, bearing shafts, axles, kinetic and flexible shafts. 12. Bearings, types of bearings. 13. Joints sealing, kinematic and immovable parts joints stealing.

Learning outcomes

The aim is to apprise the students with basic principles of mechanisms and causes of damaging the machine elements, calculations and principles of using joints, shafts and shafts bearing.
Overview of the basic machine components and connections, understanding of their function, causes of violations and adoption of principles when designing them
