Course content
1. Introduction to the subject. 2. Methods of tillage and trends in tillage development. 3. The action of the wedge in the soil. Working parts of the plough, dependencies at the plowing system , tilting of the coulter, cessing. 4. Disc working tools. Machines with powered working organs. 5. Machines for pre-sowing soil preparation - cultivators. Pre-sowing soil preparation machines - skids, harrows, rollers. 6. Reduced tillage machines. 7. Row seeding machines - seeding units. Row seeding machines - boots, hoppers, tracked inter-rows. 8. Seeding machines for precision sowing. Seeding machines for minimum cultivated soil. 9. Vegetables - machines for sowing, planting, cultivation and harvesting. 10. Potatoes - importance, inclusion in sowing procedure, soil preparation machines, seedling, cultivation. Potatoes - harvesting machines, parts of harvesters. Potatoes - storage, types of storage, mechanisation. 11. Precision farming, methods of detecting soil variability. 12. Management programmes, remote sensing (Agriculture 4.0). 13. Simulation of compaction, yield maps. 14. Course conclusion, credit, presentation.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to explain the basic methods of soil processing, the design of soil processing machines, sowing and the principles of partial mechanisms of these machines.
The student is able to apply the knowledge acquired during the study defined in the Content section of this syllabus.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam

Combined examination (written and oral), credit - attendance, elaboration and presentation of the chosen topic, submission of protocols according to the assignment.
