Course content
|
Molecular biological methods and directions of their application in cattle breeding. Molecular genetics of qualitative signs and quantitative properties. Molecular genetics of genetic diseases, health and resistance. Molecular markers. Use of molecular genetics findings and knowledge of the bovine genome for innovation of breeding methods, selection and hybridisation, testing and optimisation of breeding values in breeding animals.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim is to gain theoretical knowledge of the innovative potential of contemporary genomics and intellectual skills for their transfer to biotechnological processes in the selection and hybridization in livestock, testing and optimization of breeding values, identification of animal resources in the food chain.
Broad knowledge of applocations of genetics in animal breeding, esp. In breeding on high performance and health.
