Course content
|
"The aim is to increase the level of knowledge of students in accordance with the current state of knowledge and perspective of horse breeding, with the principles of breeding technology, training methods, methods of use horses and breeding work in horse breeding. History of horse breeding, its importance and perspectives of development, description of horses, basic colors horses, evaluation of exterior, movement abilities and mental characteristics, horse breeds. Ethology, use of ethological and psychological characteristics in training, breeding foals and their education, principles of housing, care and treatment of horses, farriery and care of hooves, assessment of health status, the most common diseases of horses. Training of draught, riding and racing horses, the use of alternative methods of education and training of horses. Use of horses in individual equestrian disciplines, western riding, riding tourism. Organization of horse breeding and horseriding. Legislation in horse breeding.

Prerequisites
|
Completion of university studies in agriculture or natural sciences. Basic knowledge of zootechnics and animal nutrition.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination, Written examination
Activities of consultant BP, DP in horse breeding, horse nutrition, physiology and morphology of horses. Teaching bachelor's and master's students 20 hours. Active participation in conferences specialized in horse breeding.
