Course content
|
Content of lectures: Casic care of small animals. Importance, history, current status and perspectives. Technology of breeding, feeding, reproduction, and diseases of guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchilas, hamsters and other small rodents. Content of practices: Identification of small animals, registration and administration of breeding. Organizations in the Czech Republic and Europe. Standards of breeds. Basics of small animals showing. Breeds, colors and markings of guinea pigs, rabbits, chinchilas, hamsters and other small rodents. Excursion at the National Small Animals Show in Lysá nad Labem.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of subject is to learn students about small animals breeding, knowledge of breeds and colors of appropriate species. The subject is focused on issue of rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchilas, hamsters and other small rodents.
Theoretical principles and practical skills for small animals caregivers.

Prerequisites
|
Standard knowledge of zootechnics, physiology, genetics and animal nutrition.

|
Combined exam
Credit: Active attendance at practices and at the excursion. PPT presentation. Credit test. Exam: Written test + oral exam
