Course content
|
The course aims to acquaint students with current scientific and professional knowledge, trends, techniques, and technology innovations in individual cattle categories, pigs, and poultry. The student will gain an overview of the current situation in cattle, pig, and poultry breeding in the Czech Republic, the EU, and the world, knowledge of meat, milk, and egg production, information on new trends in the systems and technologies used in cattle, pig and poultry breeding about animal welfare, knowledge of the environmental microclimate for each category of cattle, pig, and poultry, an overview of the principles of biosecurity on cattle, pig and poultry farms, information on the current situation of processing cattle and pig manure and poultry manure and litter.

The course aims to acquaint students with current scientific and professional knowledge and directions of technique and technology in individual cattle, pigs, and poultry categories.
Extensive professional and systematic knowledge in the field of farm animal breeding. Knowledge of current trends in farm animal breeding.

Prerequisites
|
Knowledge of anatomy, reproduction, and nutrition in farm animals.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination, Written examination, Seminar work
Each student prepares the assigned seminar paper based on professional and scientific literary sources. The work needs to be regularly checked by the tutor.
