Course content
Feed science, characteristics of feeds and their use in animal nutrition; feed preservation, feed preparation. Nutrition and feeding of individual species and categories of animals; recommended need for nutrients and energy; compilation and optimization of feed rations and recipes for complete feed mixtures.

Learning outcomes
The course develops the knowledge gained in the study of Nutrition and Feeding of animals I., which is a prerequisite for its completion. The aim is to gain students a basic knowledge of nutrition and feeding of livestock. Emphasis will be placed on specific requirements for individual species and categories of animals. Attention will also be paid to the science of feed, their use in animal nutrition, including the determination of nutrient requirements and demonstrating the ability to address the optimization of feed rations.
Ability to define the need for nutrients and energy in the body, the use and classification of feed for individual species of animals; ability to use methods for optimizing feed rations and feed mixtures.

Combined exam, Test

The study ends with a combined exam for the subjects Nutrition and Feeding of Farm Animals I. + II.
