Course content
|
The course is structured to the parts including the meaning of water, treatment and sources of nitrogen matters, influence of carbohydrats and fat like energetic resources, meaning and treatment of others components - mineral stuffs, vitamins and other specific matters. The treatment of single nutrients in organism and possibilities for production interference are described. Crucial is the characteristic of feed resources, their structure and treatment in the process of digestion.

Learning outcomes
|
Provide information on the basics nutrition of farm animals. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of nutrients and energy. The student has to understand feed sampling, in a practical exercise to perform nutrient analysis and demonstrate the ability of qualitative evaluation of feed.
Ability to define the nutritional value of feed, orientation in basic methods of feed analysis, including methods for sampling. Calculation of energy values. Ability to assess the quality of feed.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of high school chemistry, biology.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Test, Interim evaluation
The course is completed by a credit, which passes the continuous evaluation. The requirement to complete the course is a successful evaluation of tests.
