Course content
|
Principles of research work, principles of publishing knowledge and results, principles of behavior towards co-workers, opponent and expert activity, verification of information, ethical use of results, principles of citation priority, principles of writing scientific text, techniques and methods of presentation of results, graphical data processing, use of statistics in evaluation results.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim is to learn to search for information in science from primary and secondary sources using modern methods of communication, their processing and sorting. Information sources, information processing , the acquisition, recording, organization, retrieval, display, and dissemination of information. Databases, keywords, thesaurus, communication among scientists. Evaluation and classification of information in science: citation standard ISO 690, IF, SCI, The Web of Science, personal bibliographic database, processing of graphic materials (scanner, digital photo). Presentation of information in science: written, principles of writing of a professional text, rules of citations, structure of scientific publications, thesis structure.
Student know the principles of information science. Student has ability used all the processes and techniques pertaining to the information in science, including capture, generation, dissemination, analysis, transformation, usage, storage, communication, protection, verification, presentation and publication. The student is able to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.

Prerequisites
|
Work with text, PC, databases, knowledge of codex of ethics in science, principles of scientific work.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination
Compulsory consultations with the teacher, passing of an oral examination confirming the student's comprehensive orientation in the field.
