Course content
Lectures: 1. (2 hours) General anatomy, locomotor system 2. (2 hours) Respiratory system 3. (2 hours) Digestive system 4. (2 hours) Excretory system, reproductive system 5. (2 hours) Circulatory system 6. (2 hours) Peripheral nervous system 7. (2 hours) Central nervous system, senses 8. (2 hours) Endocrine system, skin and skin derivatives 9. (2 hours) Immune system 10. (2 hours) Topographic anatomy Practical training: 1. - 2. Cell anatomy. Tissues, organs, systems, organisms. 3. - 4. Bones, joints, muscles. Working with slides and models - student presentations. 5. - 6. Autopsy I - locomotor system. 7. - 8. Respiratory, digestive, and urogenital system. Working with models - student presentations. 9. - 10. Cardiovascular and nervous system. Working with models - student presentations. Autopsy II - cardiovascular and nervous system.

Learning outcomes
This theoretical and practical course represents one of the basic compulsory study subjects. It introduces students to the terminology of anatomical structures and organ systems of the human body. Students acquire the knowledge of physiology; mainly related to midwifery.
The student can prove (orally and in written form) his or her knowledge of: o general and special anatomy including the basics of topographic anatomy o physiological processes in the human body, their interconnectedness and regulation mechanisms o function of cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems of the human body o the basic functional units and their interconnectedness.

Tests and oral examination during training sessions, final written and oral credit test, and final oral exam. Required attendance of training is 80%.
