Course content
Lectures: (2 hours) 1. Introduction to the field of pathology, disease and its causes 2. Regressive and progressive changes 3. Inflammation and pathology of tumour conditions 4. Etiological pathology 5. Pathology of the respiratory and cardiovascular system 6. Pathology of the gastrointestinal tract 7. Pathology of the genitourinary system 8. Pathology of the locomotor system 9. Pathology of the nervous system 10. Pathology of the endocrine glands and skin Seminars: (2 hours) 1. Methods of pathology - autopsy, microscopic technique, immunohistochemical methods. Benefits of autopsies, types of autopsies, introduction to the possibilities of the laboratory compartment 2. More detailed acquaintance with microscopic technique - biopsy, necropsy. 3. Immunohistochemical methods - PCR, fluorescence methods and others. 4. Macro and micro images of general pathological conditions. 5. Macro and micro images of pathological conditions in individual systems.

Learning outcomes
The course of anatomy and pathological anatomy provides the necessary knowledge for the given field of study concerning the basics of anatomy and pathology, which are a substantial prerequisite for understanding and teaching other professional subjects.
Students will gain basic orientation in nosological units with a special focus on morphological background.
