Course content
1st week: Introduction to study 2nd week: Word formation (words and compound words). 3rd - 4th weeks: Basic noun categories (declination, case, voice), adjectives of the first and second declination. 5th - 6th weeks: Terminology of the digestive system. Attributive adjective and appositional adjunct. 7th - 8th weeks: Terminology of the cardiovascular and respiratory systems. Nouns of the fourth declination, prefixes, laterality. 9th - 10th weeks: Terminology of the locomotive system - parts of the human body and bones. Adjectives of the third declination, ordinary numerals. 11th week: Conclusion, final revision. 12th week: Credit test.

" Students will learn the basic Latin grammatical categories " Students will master Latin pronunciation " Students will master the Latin-Czech dictionary " Students will have the vocabulary and grammar of the Latin nouns of all five declinations, and the adjectives of the first and second declinations. " Students will know Latin prepositions " Students will understand the grammar and lexicology of basic health terminology, " Students can use the basic Latin nouns of all declinations in connection with the other nouns/adjectives. " Students will understand professional terms based upon Latin and Greek.
" Students understand the basic Latin grammatical categories " Students master the correct Latin pronunciation " Students master the Latin-Czech dictionary " Students master the vocabulary and grammar of the Latin substantives of all five declinations, and the adjectives in 1st and 2nd declinations. " Students differentiate between attributive adjectives and appositional adjectives and can use them in the right way. " Students know the basic Latin prepositions " Students understand the basic health terminology - lexical as well as grammatical. " Students are able to use the basic Latin substantives of all declinations in connection with the other substantives, adjectives and prepositions. " Students know the basic Latin adverbs and numerals and understand the verbal categories which effect professional terminology. " Students know the equivalents of the basic professional terms in Latin and Greek. " Students are able to understand the Latin diagnosis with the help of a dictionary. " Students understand professional terms based upon Latin and Greek.

80% attendance, interim tests and final credit test (min. 70% to pass). Percentage of the final test can be adjusted according to success in the interim tests.
