Course content
|
The course includes the following topics that are taught: Kommunikation in Arztpraxen und im Krankenhaus; Menschen, die Hilfe brauchen; Behinderte; Sozialstation; Leben und Wohnen im Alter; Wohnen und Leben im Altenheim; Soziale Probleme bei Jugendlichen; Suchtkrankheiten.

Learning outcomes
|
The specialized language instruction consists of the acquisition of a specialized vocabulary, which is oriented at health and social field, and used during the practice of professional communication.
The student understands the terminology of the health and social field and is able to work with the literature, is able to find technical information, and to manage communication situations in which they will encounter during their studies and future career.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination, Test
Credit: Credit will be granted upon successful completion of the course requirements (presence and active participation in class debates, presentations regarding given topics, final written test). Exam: The examination is based on a PP presentation regarding an assigned topic related to the student's programme and a subsequent discussion.
