Course content
Lectures 1. Introduction to human rights (history, basic documents, philosophy). 2. International human rights documents. 3. UN bodies in relation to human rights and possibilities of their application in the social sphere (protection of the rights of the child, women, minorities). 4. The concept of human rights in terms of social work, dilemmas in social work. 5. Convention on the rights of the child and its application in practice, principles, rights and obligations of the child. 6. The role of social worker in the protection of human rights. 7. Protection of human rights in dealing with domestic violence. 8. The role of the family and its anchoring in terms of protection of the rights of minors. 9. Application of protection of rights and legitimate interests of minor children in the Czech legal order. 10. The position and role of bodies responsible for safeguarding the rights of minors. 11. The role of social and legal protection of children in the Czech legal order. 12. Functions of procedural rules in ensuring protection of rights of minors. 13. Discussion of the presented dilemmas - suggestions of possible solutions, credit.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with human rights and dilemmas in social work in relation to human resources management.
Students will deepen their orientation in the legislative framework of human rights. The outcome of the course is theoretical knowledge subject documents and the ability to apply them in practice. They will become familiar with the dilemmas of social work related to human rights. Students will acquire the ability to orientate themselves in the legal anchoring of human rights protection from the perspective of international, European and Czech legislation and in particular their interdependence in the application of these rights, with a focus on the role and position of bodies dealing with the protection of human rights, the use of tools to ensure protection of human rights .
Prerequisites
Knowledge of the related curriculum acquired in the Bachelor's degree program.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Test

Self-study. Attendance at lectures and seminars. Seminars will be conducted in the form of discussion on selected topics. To obtain the credit it is necessary to pass a written test consisting of 10 questions, one question out of three possible is correct for each question and it is necessary to answer at least 7 questions correctly. The exam is oral, when the student draws two questions, which is prepared for 15 minutes in writing and then answer.
