The course provides the knowledge and skills necessary for basic orientation in Greek-Latin professional terminology. Emphasis is placed on lexical and grammatical orientation in medical terminology, especially in the field of 1) anatomy 2) physiology and pathology 3) diagnostics and therapy. The grammatical phenomena covered are only those that influence the formation of professional terminology (especially the flexion of nouns and adjectives and the formation of compound words). The course also supports verbal logic, cultivates the sense of language and refines speech.
The student will acquire the basic vocabulary and understanding of expressions adopted in the Czech professional terminology, which is a prerequisite for the study of other medical disciplines.
