Strategic management and its application in health care and social affairs 5. Character traits of a manager, leadership styles, manager's decision-making 6. Personnel management 7. Management of behaviour and actions of health care workers 8. Process management and its application in the health care and social sphere 9. Project management and its application in the health care and social sphere 10. Management of adverse events 11. Culture, identity and image of health care institutions and social institutions 12. Quality management systems in healthcare, standardization of care 13. Risk management in health and social care 14. Safety of care

Learning outcomes
1. to acquaint students with selected problems of management of health services organizations 2. to teach students to understand the essence of management and the work of a manager 3. to teach students the basics of quality management, standardization of care and ensuring patient safety 4. to teach students to apply the acquired knowledge in real practice 5. to teach students the importance of prevention for the health of society as a whole 6. In addition, students will be introduced to DHO best practices and screening programmes
Students will gain basic orientation in the organization of health services. They will use this knowledge in their professional life. Students will also understand the interrelationship of individual components of management. They will also get acquainted with the possibility of developing preventive programmes related to a number of chronic diseases, incl. goal definition, method design and outputs. Students will know the principles of quality management of health services provided and the principles of ensuring patient safety
