The course is theoretical and practical. It provides basic theoretical knowledge of genetics and trains its application in the practice of a future midwife. It teaches students how to obtain information about the possibilities of identifying genetic diseases and their prevention. Information on genetic counselling, its possibilities and organization in the Czech Republic is also included.
The student: - characterizes the genetic determination of genetic phenomena - describes the basic methods of analysis at the level of molecules, cells, individuals, and populations - explains the possibilities of identification of genetic diseases and their prevention - is familiar with genetic counselling, its possibilities and organization in the Czech Republic
