Lectures: 1. Cell biophysics, transport mechanisms 2. Electrical cell manifestations, membrane potential 3. Mechanical properties of tissues, biomechanics of blood circulation 4. Electrical and magnetic properties of tissues, effects of electrical current on the organism 5. Therapeutic use of electric current 6. Thermodynamics, heat, temperature and its measurement 7. Biophysics of breathing, breathing volumes and capacities 8. Gas exchange between external and internal environments 9. Biophysics of perception, transfer functions of receptors 10. Biophysics of vision, optical eye system 11. Biophysics of sound perception, hearing organ 12. Mechanism of transmission and reception of acoustic signals 13. Biomechanics of the locomotor system 14. Learning outcomes
|
Students will be acquainted with cell biophysics, structure and properties of biological membranes, electrical cell manifestations and the emergence and spread of action potential. They will also learn about mechanical and electrical properties of tissues, biomechanics of blood circulation, breathing biophysics, biophysics of sensory perception and biophysics of external factors.
