Lectures: 1. Cell biophysics, transport mechanisms 2. Electrical manifestations of cells, membrane potential 3. Mechanical properties of tissues, biomechanics of blood circulation 4. Electrical and magnetic properties of tissues, effects of electric current on the organism 5. Therapeutic use of electric current 6. Thermodynamics, heat, temperature and its measurement 7. Biophysics of respiration, breathing volumes and capacities 8. Gas exchange between external and internal environment 9. Biophysics of perception, transfer functions of receptors 10. Biophysics of vision, optical system of the eye 11. Biophysics of sound perception, auditory organ 12. Mechanism of transmission and reception of acoustic signals 13. Biomechanics of the locomotor system 14. Mechanisms of effects of selected physical factors on living systems

o get acquainted with individual areas of physics that are used in medicine o get acquainted with the physical principles of individual methods o get acquainted with individual instrumental methods and examinations o understand the processes directly related to human health and disease
o students are able to clarify the biophysical principles of physiological and pathophysiological processes and processes in the human body o students know the basic mechanisms of the effects of selected physical factors on living systems
