Learning outcomes

The course builds on high school biology and expands it so that students acquire the basics for biological courses (in terms of current trends in research and practice). In theoretical seminars, students learn to work with literature in the manner suited to university, i.e. independently. The monitoring of student preparation takes place through their active participation in seminars. The course also ensures students are practically acquainted with some basic laboratory tasks in experimental biology (especially work with a microscope) with regard to applications in medical laboratories. Seminars take place in two-hour blocks every week
Introduction to the basic principles of the functioning and development of a living organism with emphasis on biomedical aspects and the acquisition of basic laboratory skills in biologically-oriented laboratories focused on biomedicine.
