Course content
Lectures: 1. Definition of the term perioperative period; operating department, operating room, operating team, work organization, operational program 2. Types of operations - degree of inevitability and urgency, degree of risk, purpose; gynecological operations abdominal, vaginal 3. Laparoscopy in gynecology, small procedures performed in gynecology 4. Obstetric operations, procedures performed in obstetrics 5. Instrumentation for gynecological operations; instrumentation for obstetric procedures; preparation of the operating room before the operation, preparation of the operating team 6. Pre-operative assessment of the client's state of health in gynecology, standard examination methods before gynecological surgery, special examinations; pre-operative assessment of the client's state of health in obstetrics, standard examination methods before surgery, special examination 7. Preoperative preparation - general, immediate, remote - somatic, psychological preparation; preparation of the client/patient for acute surgery 8. Postoperative care in gynecology, postoperative care in obstetrics 9. Postoperative complications in gynecology and obstetrics, perioperative medical (medical, nursing) documentation for the client/patient Seminars: 1. Education of female clients before, during and after surgery according to the standard care plan 2. Psychological preparation of the client, psychotherapy techniques in perioperative care in obstetrics and gynecology 3. Nursing interventions for distant pre-operative preparations, nursing interventions for immediate pre-operative preparations on the day before surgery, nursing interventions for immediate pre-operative preparations on the day of surgery, preparation of the client/patient for acute surgery, documentation management 4. Nursing process for the client in the intraoperative period, nursing process for the client in the postoperative period 5. Learning outcomes
The course is designed as a theoretical-practical unit for midwives. It focuses on a specific area of care about the needs of the woman in the perioperative period. Get acquainted with conditions requiring surgical intervention, with surgical categories interventions according to urgency, identifying potential perioperative problems (reduction of the patient's stress reactions, reduction risk of infection, assessment of the state of the vascular system, assessment of the state of organ functions, risk of changes in the body appearance, and others), with pre-operative care, intra-operative and post-operative care. The subject introduces individual chapters of gynecological endocrinology, current trends, treatment schemes for menstrual cycle disorders and introduces them to their pharmacological and surgical solutions. He deals with all types of hormonal contraception and hormone replacement therapy. It introduces the advantages and disadvantages of hormonal contraception and hormone replacement therapy, with their indications and contraindications. It also deals with the treatment of infertility, including methods of assisted reproduction. Furthermore, the subject introduces the methods and issues of the midwife's work in the care of women with inflammatory and sexually transmitted diseases. It is focused on the care of a woman throughout her life, with an emphasis on prevention against the onset of inflammatory diseases and the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. Part of the practical part of the subject is the training of psychomotor and communication skills in nursing care in simulation laboratories. Emphasis is placed on managing a complex situation, including compliance with hygienic and epidemiological principles, risk prevention, teamwork and managing crisis situations. The learning process is supported by subsequent debriefing, which is a necessary element of simulation teaching.
