Lectures: 1. Paradigm - theory of the field, basic goals of nursing models and theories, differences in conceptual theories and models, categories of nursing models, relationship of conceptual models to education, practice, management, research. 2. Environmental model F. Nightingale, Model of achieving the maternal role R. Mercer. 3. Complementary-supplementary model V. A. Henderson, Theory of self-care deficit D. E. Orem. 4. Adaptation model C. Roy. 5. - 7. Transcultural/multicultural trend of societal development. Multicultural/transcultural society in the Czech Republic. Comprehensive view of multicultural nursing. Migration and its consequences for healthcare. Explanation of related concepts (culture, ethnicity, multicultural nursing, cultural values, cultural relativism, culture shock, ethnocentrism, migration, minority and majority groups, spirituality, religion, faith, etc.). 8. - 9. Categorization of data, and determination of bio-psycho-socio-spiritual differences. Leininger Model (Rising Sun Model). Information Pyramid. Ethical principles in multicultural nursing. Seminars: 1. Learning outcomes
|
This theoretical and practical course deals with the basic concepts of the theory of midwifery and the origin, development, and characteristics of the scientific discipline of midwifery. It focuses on the basic legislative standards of the EU and the Czech Republic related to midwifery, the methodology of nursing practice (the nursing process) and its stages in individual nursing and midwifery care. It also focuses on the needs of the family and the community, their division and classification according to various authors. It defines the hierarchy of human needs in the field of health care. It introduces the basic feelings and manifestations of dissatisfaction related to human needs, which form the basis of nursing diagnostics. It introduces the analysis and application of selected conceptual models and theories that are part of the nursing process and are used in midwifery. It also introduces the issue of transcultural/multicultural societal development and the analysis and application of selected conceptual models of transcultural nursing.
The student: - defines the historical development of midwifery and obstetrics - has knowledge of the basics of modern scientific midwifery - is aware of legislative norms in midwifery - lists professional organizations in midwifery in the Czech Republic and throughout the world - knows the benefits and the effect of the work of a midwife on women/clients - defines the nursing process and its phases - defines the benefits of the nursing process for the midwife and the client - identifies the unsatisfied needs of clients - determines nursing diagnoses according to NANDA taxonomy - uses objectified measuring scales and methods - creates an individualized care plan for clients - describes the most important nursing models - analyses the goals of individual nursing models - describes the results of nursing activities achieved in the nursing process - explains the role of a midwife in individual conceptual models in the nursing process
