Course content
Lectures: (1 hour per week) Week 1: Introduction to Urgent Care Definition of urgent care, meaning and aim of critical care, a care system for patients in the pre-hospital stage. Characteristics of working in the emergency department multidisciplinary team, job description, and paramedic competencies. Elements of work in the emergency department. Week 2: Legal issues and documentation in urgent care confidentiality in PNP, a negative reversal in intervention, informed consent. We are working with the documentation of the Emergency Department. Week 3: Positioning of patients in pre-hospital emergency care and during transport by the A&E. Basic monitoring in PNP (BP, P, SaO2, CO2, DF, TT, glycemia). Oxygen therapy, nebulization Week 4 - 7: Airway management without aids (head tilt) and with aids (airway, LAMA, combitubus, ETI, coniopuncture, TS). Tracheostomy cares Airway care. Week 8 - 9: UPV. Blood oxygenation monitoring (invasive, non-invasive). Monitoring gases in the inhaled and exhaled mixture. Monitoring of respiratory activity. Exercise: (2 hours per week). Week 1-2: Familiarization with the professional classroom. Legal issues and documentation in urgent care confidentiality in PNP, a negative reversal in intervention, informed consent. Completion of the documentation of the Emergency Department (Record of Exit, Negative Reversal). Week 3: Practical training of positioning of patients in PNP and during transport by the Ambulance Service. Practical training in essential PNP monitoring (BP, P, SaO2, D, TT, glycemia). Practical training in oxygen therapy and nebulization. Week 4 - 7: Practical training of providing airway without and with aids (airway, LAMA, combitubus, ETI, coniopuncture). Tracheostomy care. Airway care and practical training on suctioning. Week 8 - 9: UPV - ventilator work. Monitoring gases in the inhaled and exhaled mixture. Monitoring breathing activity.

Learning outcomes
The course aims to explain and demonstrate nursing procedures specific to the work of a paramedic. The course builds on the knowledge of basic nursing procedures. The study also covers material and technical equipment in emergency care, documentation, organization, and interaction with other emergency services. An essential part of the course is training on teaching models, enabling the formation of necessary skills and habits.
