SUMMER SEMESTER Lectures: (1 hour per week - 9 weeks) Week 1 - 3: Cardiac monitoring (ECG, 12 ECG, telemetry), primary cardiac disorders (ECG curve evaluation, defibrillation, pacing) Week 4-5: Administration of drugs, fluids, and nutrients in the PNP (peripheral venous access, permanent cannula venepuncture, central venous access, catheter insertion into v. jugularis externa, v. femoralis, intraosseous access, nasal access, tracheal access, rectal access Week 6-7: Enteral and parenteral nutrition NGS (definition, indications, contraindications, types of probes (including Sengstaken-Blakemore), devices, insertion procedure, probe care. Gastric lavage - purpose, indications, contraindications, design, and provision of gastric contents for gastric lavage. Week 8-9: Invasive cardiac output monitoring, invasive pressure monitoring (CST, arterial blood pressure, arteria pulmonalis catheterization, intracranial pressure monitoring). Exercise: (1 hour per week - 9 weeks) Week 1-3: Practical training in cardiac monitoring (ECG, 12 ECG, telemetry). Practical training in evaluating the ECG curve, fundamental cardiac disturbances, defibrillation, and pacing. Week 4-5: Practical training in securing peripheral venous access and preparing arterial catheter insertion devices. Practical training on blocking intraosseous permits. Week 6 - 7: Practical training on inserting the gastric probe, care of the investigation, and gastric lavage. Week 8 - 9: Care of patients during invasive pressure monitoring and equipment preparation for procedures. Care of patients during invasive cardiac output monitoring, preparation of equipment for surgery

Learning outcomes
|
The course aims to explain and demonstrate nursing procedures specific to the work of a paramedic. The course builds on the knowledge of basic nursing procedures. The study also covers material and technical equipment in emergency care, documentation, organization, and interaction with other emergency services. An essential part of the course is training on teaching models, enabling the formation of necessary skills and habits. The course is taught in professional classrooms; students are divided into groups.
The student knows and can apply specialized and highly specialized nursing procedures necessary for the work of a paramedic.

Credit requirements: 80% attendance at seminars, 80% pass rate on midterm tests in workshops, demonstration of practical skills Examination requirements: passing the final test and oral examination.
