Course content
1st week: Unique procedure while providing first aid: pre-medical first aid, rescue parts. Helpline, communication with the operation centre, procedure after the arrival of professional help 2nd week: Basic urgent resuscitation according to the new KPR procedures for resuscitation issued by The European Council: provision of free airways, indirect heart massage, automated external defibrillator (AED). Urgent resuscitation in children. 3rd week: Wounds. Stopping bleeding. External, arterial, venous, mixed, internal bleeding, bleeding out of orifices. Shock. 4th week: Injury of the skull, brain, spinal cord and vertebral column, injury of the chest and abdomen 5th week: Injury of the locomotive system, bone fractures, injuries of the joints, muscles 6th week: Thermic injuries, injury caused by electricity 7th week: Chemical injuries: acid burn of skin, mucosa, eyes, acid burn of mouth and neck, oesophagus and stomach. Inhale of chocking and irritating cough 8th week: Polytrauma, unconsciousness, acute brain accidents, intoxication, metabolic disorders 9th week: Chest pain, ischemic heart disease, arhytmy Workshops: (1 class per week- 9 weeks) 1st week: Practical training of KPR: - provision of free airways, diagnosis of breathing failure - recovery position - cardiopulmonary resuscitation, indirect heart massage, AED 2nd week: First aid techniques and equipment: removing the clothes, helmet, monitoring of the vital functions 3rd week: Bleeding, stoping the bleeding with direct compression, using a compressive bandage, tourniquet, stopping the bleeding with haemostop, stopping the bleeding, and treatment of loss injury. Internal bleeding, shock, antishock measures, positioning 4th week: Treatment of the injury of the skull and spinal cord. Injury of the pelvic and limb girdles, long bones and joints; treatment, the methods of fixation 5th week: Injury of the chest and abdomen, first aid 6th week: First aid in an injury caused by electricity; thermal injuries 7th week: Circulatory problems: acute chest pain, angina pectoris, acute heart atack, arhytmy 8th week: Breathing problems, obstruction of airways, hanging, sinking, asthma 9th week: Disorders of consciousness, fainting, acute brain accident, cramps, metabolic disorders (diabetes)
