Course content
Practical training at the Emergency Medical Service in the range of 320 hours 8 - weeks

Learning outcomes
Upon completed training the student has to: - comprehend emergency medicine role and physician assistant profession´s role in modern socienty and the health care system - understand and analyse emergency medicine functional modelsin Europe - be aware of emergency medicine philosophical, ethical and moral aspects and understand the importance of maintaining confidentiality - have knowledge in the legal aspects of emergency medicine, be able to apply the laws and regulations governing the disasters and emergency situations - comprehend pecullarities of patient care in EMA - perform EMA in life-threathing, critical conditions, trauma and extreme situations - apply theoretical knowledge to perform patient assessment and health disorder diagnosis
Upon successful completion of clinical practice the student is able to: - perform patient´s primary investigation - know the emergency patient transfers and transport ways, trauma patient immobilization principles, victim sorting in case of disasters - perform patient´s evaluation, fault diagnosis, health state stabilization, and select proper transoprtation - apply EMS algorithms - use the defibrillator, apply defibrillation, synchronized cardioversion and electrocardiostimulation - evaluate the monitor readings and prevent life-threating arrythmias - provide the patient breathing through the airways and the tracheal intubation - relieve the patient´s airway from foreign matter, apply oxygen inhalation - manage the provision of EMA algorhytm for polytrauma patients, cardiac patients and coma patients - accurately reflect the patient´s condition, in the EMS medical dokumentation - learn the principles of teamwork - acquire the skill to take responsibility - respect the confidentiality of the information obtained about the patient´s, family, private life, treatment, disease diagnosis and prognosis - evaluate the results of own work ojectively - analyse the mistakes and look for causes

Successful completion of teaching focused on emergency medicine Theoretical knowledge and practical skills in emergency medicine

100% attendance at practical training according to the schedule of services active approach fulfillment of set goals teamwork
