Learning outcomes
The goal of the study is to provide basic information on research in nursing. The students will be able to make independent use of methods and techniques of research in nursing practice. They will perform small research investigations within the seminars and the bachelor work. The students will learn fundamentals of critical - scientific thinking and understand the necessity and the significance of scientific approach in nursing practice. The students will learn basic steps of research process, selection of suitable methods and techniques in qualitative and quantitative research, processing and evaluation of results. The students will be able to perform small research investigations within nursing practice. Teach the students identify research problems. Practise formulation of research goals with the students. Practise creation of research questions with the students. Practise creation of hypotheses in quantitative research with the students. Familiarize the students with creation of research sample. Familiarize the students with techniques of data collection in qualitative and quantitative research. Familiarize the students with stages of research process. Familiarize the students with processing of qualitative and quantitative data. Explain principles of writing of final report to the students. Prepare the students for independent research investigation within nursing practice
The student will be able to defend the significance of research in nursing. The student will be able to define research in nursing. The student will be able to identify issues in nursing based on proofs. The student will be able to describe individual research stages. The student will be able to explain the significance of correct definition of research sample. The student will be able to explain the usability of individual techniques of data collection in quantitative and qualitative researches. The student will be able to evaluate and analyze scientific results from nursing research using established criteria. The student will be able to present and evaluate research literature, study materials and sources
Prerequisites
The students continue the knowledge from professional secondary schools concerning writing of seminar works. The subject is not conditioned

Student performance assessment, Seminar work

90% attendance at seminars or 100% participation in consultations, active participation in seminars, work in groups, preparation of a research project
