Course content
Lectures: 1. - 2. Community care - history of community care in the Czech Republic, definition, goal, structure within public health care and related terminology. 3. - 4. Healthy community - factors influencing the health of the community, research in community care, WHO recommendations. 5. - 6. Characteristics of comprehensive home care and its basic principles. Anamnestic and diagnostics in home care. 7. - 8. Selected models of health support and disease prevention (Noly Pender model, Betty Neuman model). 9. - 10. Nursing process in community care - planning an educational unit. 11.-12. Community care for selected target groups - community care for the family - woman, child, man, school children, community care at work. 13.-14. Community care for selected target groups - community care for the mentally ill, intellectually disabled, community care for the elderly, and palliative community care.

Learning outcomes
o Understand the meaning of the term "community", its main social function in meeting people's needs and its hierarchy: individual - family - district - city - district - state - nation - world. o Understand the basic terminology of comprehensive home care in the Czech Republic. o Understand the need for a healthy social and natural environment in the community for the lives of individuals and their families. o Understand the importance of nursing in the care of the health of today´s population. o Apply gained knowledge to improve health in the community. o Taking responsibility for and control over one's own health.
o the student knows the competencies of nurses and health and social workers working in community care o the student understands the importance of the home environment for the implementation of the nursing process o the student is able to practically distinguish the roles of individual members of a multidisciplinary team and can fulfil them in mutual cooperation
