Learning outcomes
The use of the latest diagnostical and therapeutical methods in selected surgical disciplines, both in emergency and long-term care, will be presented. The changes in the pharmacological approach to the treatment, and in the technical approach that is focused on non-invasive, less aggressive methods will be dealt with. In the diagnostical and therapeutical approach the problems of ethics and increasingly topical problems of lawsuits will be emphasized. On a theoretical basis, students will have the opportunity to develop required, needed and topical educational materials for patients, clients and nursing students relating to particular diagnostical or therapeutical methods. New special nursing approaches to the above mentioned methods will be determined to meet the principles of modern nursing - methods of the nursing process. To do so, students will be made to use topical foreign sources, to manifest and defend their proposals and projects using EBN. The subject also includes the identification of the effectiveness of nursing procedures - interventions in individual internal disciplines and proposals for possible innovations.
