Course content
Theoretical bases of nursing in primary healthcare. Nursing methodology in primary healthcare. Advanced nursing, conceptual interconnection. Education in advanced nursing. The most frequent interventions used in community nursing and validization. Classification systems and their use in primary care. Possibilities of implementation of scientific information and EBN in the area of primary care, community nursing. Assessment tools, recording of care, care quality managament, care effectiveness. Interdisciplinary cooperation in primary care and care of the community. Research and its use for the development of primary and community care. Evaluation systems in primary and community care. National and international legislative documents of the system of primary care. Influence of the EU and international organizations policy on the strategy of care and the discipline.

Learning outcomes
Theoretical and methodological knowledge that will be a basis for students` independent work and the basis for advanced nursing in primary nursing care will be acquired. The possibilities of using the nursing process in this area under Czech conditions with regard to the social and cultural background and the increasing multicultural needs will be presented. The current positions in primary care nursing, the possibilities of professional employment and utilization of nursing competences in facilities of primary care and GP clinics will be defined. Theoretical and practical foreign experience will be used. Students will be prepared for independent activities of a primary care nurse, who monitors, analyzes, synthesizes and performs goal-oriented research preparing documents and evidence for the defence of increasing nursing competences even in this area of the healthcare system. Increased demands for the need of interdisciplinary cooperation and care continuity will be discussed. Topical trends in primary and community care in accordance with the Health 2020 program are paid attention to, and national and international legislative documents are mentioned. Sources of scientific information used, and the possibilities of EBN implementation in the area of primary care and community nursing are explored. The subject provides valuable theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed for the implementation of proposed changes and introduction of developed projects into practice in association with the transformation of primary healthcare.

To develop a project: To identify priority needs of a community in determined areas - to find out the most serious problems: 1/ in order to reduce the problems 2/ in order to control the problems (it will be performed using a study which will determine the priorities for the particular area)
