Course content
Nursing perspectives in the area of theory, practice and science. Relation of philosophy, models and theory. Development of nursing knowledge - relation to science, philosophy and professional practice. Structure of nursing knowledge - analysis and assessment of practical secondary and summarizing theory. Values in the branch of nursing, their assertion and defence. Nursing - mother love (mother approach) or professionalism. Potential in nursing roles in the area of development of nursing branch. Nurse's role as a profession innovator.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)
Learning outcomes
Teach the students to apply philosophical theories in nursing meta paradigm. Lead the students to think about the values of nursing meta paradigm - the individual as a human being, environment, health and nurse in the context of philosophical theories and conceptual models of the subject. Extend the students' knowledge on the potential of application of nursing philosophy in the field of clinical practice.
The student will be able to analyze selected philosophical theories. The student will be able to apply selected philosophical theories in nursing meta paradigm. The student will be able to put emphasis on interconnection of theoretical and philosophical foundations of subjects and clinical practice. The student will be able to demonstrated deep specialized, systemized knowledge of theories and concepts standing in the foreground of knowledge of the branch of nursing at international level; the student has good grasp of the current expert literature and of different types of professional information resources

1. Seminar essay: Mutual relations of philosophy, science and theory of nursing (min. 5 pages) 2. Analysis and assessment of one conceptual model or theory (at own choice) 3. Essay - analysis of the topic of the dissertation thesis and its processing from philosophical and theoretical perspective (min. 10 pages)
