Learning outcomes

The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with the general regularity of the relationship between man and the environment, to draw attention to the pollution of individual environmental media in terms of the source of pollution, health impact and the possibility of prevention, to focus on the main environmental stressors and their possible complex effects so that this information can be used in the protection of public health. Another goal is to introduce students to the tasks of the State Health Institute and the basic outputs in monitoring and monitoring the health status of the population in relation to the environment.
The student will acquire theoretical knowledge of general and communal hygiene, the basics of environmental protection, the EIA process (Environmental Impact Assessment) and relevant legal issues in the area of environmental protection and public health protection within the Czech Republic. The seminars will be aimed at deepening the acquired knowledge, at verifying the ability to independently navigate the issue, or at evaluating the results obtained by analyzing the environment, or by measuring factors (e.g., traffic noise, in protected outdoor areas).
