Course content
Lectures II (2 hrs): 1. Evacuation of persons and the population: legal and technical terminology 2. Building/facility evacuation 3. Area-wide evacuation 4. Specific emergency survival measures for the population 5. Implementation of basic emergency survival measures for the population 6. Individual protection 7. Securing and marking hazardous areas; decontamination 8. Decontamination equipment used by Integrated Rescue System (IRS) units 9. Preparing the population for self-protection and mutual aid during an emergency 10. Preventive education activities 11. Population protection during a state of national threat and a state of war 12. Final summary of population protection issues Exercises II (2 hrs): 1. Introductory exercise: creating emergency scenarios for simulating population protection measures 2. Simulation of building/facility evacuation 3. Simulation of area-wide evacuation 4. Simulation exercise: preparing an evacuation center and a reception center 5. Simulation exercise: implementing emergency survival measures 6. Simulation exercise: comprehensive overview 7. Simulation exercise: analyzing decontamination sites and performing decontamination 8. Exercise with decontamination showers 9. Simulation exercise: creating information brochures 10. Specialized areas of preventive education 11. Civil defense mechanisms 12. Final evaluation of the seminars

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to familiarize students with the system of population protection of the Czech Republic, its anchoring in legislative and non-legislative documents. Bring closer the content of population protection measures and tasks and their fulfilment in the environment of the Czech Republic.
Students will be able to perform analysis and planning in the field of population protection. Students will familiarize themselves with the population protection system, legislative standards and related areas.
