Course content
Lectures I (2 lessons): 1. Introduction to fire prevention. 2. Basic legal regulations in the field of fire protection. 3. Basics of fire protection ? combustion process, heat sharing during a fire, gas exchange during a fire. 4. Fire technical characteristics of substances. 5. Basic extinguishing agents. 6. Fire safety equipment. 7. Documentation of fire protection. 8. Breakdown of operated activities according to the degree of fire danger. 9. Obligations of legal entities, entrepreneurial natural persons and natural persons in the field of fire protection and the possibility of their penalties. 10. Authorities of state administration and local government in the field of fire protection. 11. Performance of state fire supervision. 12. Fire protection units. Seminars I (1 lesson): 1. Determination of initial knowledge in the field of fire prevention. 2. - 3. Practical examples of fire extinguisher use. 4. - 5. Examples of fire initiation from electrical equipment. 6. - 7. Practical demonstrations of the use of fire safety devices. 8. - 9. Practical examples of applying the obligations of natural persons. 10 - 12. Presentation and evaluation of assigned seminar papers.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the field of fire prevention, i.e., basic legal regulations, basic principles of building prevention, familiarization with the issues of state administration and self-government in the field of fire protection and the rights and obligations of legal and entrepreneurial natural persons and natural persons in the provision of tasks in the field of fire protection. Furthermore, students will be introduced to the issue of dangerous chemical substances in terms of their fire properties.
After completing the course, students will acquire basic expertise in the field of fire protection, which they can use in their professional and private lives.
