Learning outcomes

The aim of the subject is to clarify the radiobiological nature of various types of external radiation damage and contamination with radioactive substances, to explain the dependence of the biological effect on the type and dose of radiation, on the distribution of the dose over time, the distribution of the dose in the organism and the importance of reparative processes. Attention will be paid to various pathogenetic forms of acute radiation sickness, their periodization in the clinical picture, diagnosis, prophylaxis and treatment. Students will learn about late and genetic consequences of radiation, growth disorders and teratogenic effects of ionizing radiation will be explained to them.
