Course content
Lectures: 1. History of social work and ethical principles of social work. 2. Personality and roles of social workers, professional social worker-client relationship (individual, family, group, community). 3. Dilemmas of current social work. 4. Systemic approach and its use in social work. 5. Anti-oppressive approach to social work. 6. Task-oriented approach. 7. Social-environmental perspectives. 8. Practical social work - macro-, mezzo-, and micro-levels 9. Principles of cooperation of social workers in a multidisciplinary setting in the macro, mezzo, and micro-context 10. Methods of SW 11. Evaluation of the social work 12. Social work quality assessment, supervision

Learning outcomes
The goal of the subject is to inform about the definition of social work, its goals and basic concepts. Furthermore, the goal is to enable students to be oriented in the theoretical the selected theories and methods of social work and to understand the theoretical issues of social work as a science, including ethical and philosophical aspects and dilemmas in social work. Students will learn about the specifics of the profession of social workers in the context of other helping professions.
