Course content
The total length of continuous practical placement amounts to 8 weeks. The student practises in social work organizations focused on handicapped persons or on seniors. The student performs practical placement under the guidance of a social worker. ZSF JU ensures the practical placement through practical placement guarantors who work as social workers as well. If need, the students can make use of individual supervision. The final form of the placement is adapted to the actual capabilities of the organizations and of the students.

Learning outcomes
Provide the students with experience with social work and work methods which exist or are applied in social service organizations. Extend professional knowledge and skills, mediate different methods of social work in connection with the given target group and develop reflection and self-reflection within acquisition of professional competences. Professional practice placement will be conducted in accordance with Standards of education in social work (see Literature).
The practical placement will familiarize the student with the organizational structure of the organization. The student will apply specific social work methods and techniques in practice. The student gets grasp in efficient use of the existing means when working with the given target groups (older people, people with disabilities).

- practical placement in full extent - submission of final report - The student will elaborate a final report of the practical placement, including the student's self-reflection, the description of the organization and of the social work methods and techniques applied by the organization when working with the given target group.
