Course content
1. Pedagogy as a science - definition of the term, relation of pedagogy to other sciences, structure of the field. 2. Educational reality - basic concepts and relationships. Educational processes. Regularities and types of learning, learning styles. 3. Subject and object of education. The personality of the educator. 4. Concepts and principles of pedagogical communication and their application in the educational process. 5. Definition and formulation of educational goals and how this is applicable to the work of a nutritional therapist. 6. Application of teaching methods in the educational process. Organizational forms of education. Didactic resources. 7. Design and evaluation of the educational process in the field of nutritional therapy. 8. Reflection and self-reflection on the educational process. 9. Peculiarities in the education of individual age categories. 10. Special approaches in the education of clients with physical and sensory disabilities, and current issues related to the field.

Learning outcomes
The course focuses on basic information in the field of pedagogy. It defines the specifics of the educational work of a health worker with regard to the individual developmental stages of clients. Students will get acquainted with the relationship between the education of the client and their treatment. Based on this knowledge, students are able to apply theoretical knowledge of pedagogy in their educational activities for patients, clients, or other people in special dietary procedures.
The student is able to define pedagogy as a science. The student is able to characterize the educational programme. The student knows selected teaching methods in the educational process. The student is familiar with teaching aids. The student is able to differentiate between education for different age groups and clients with disabilities.
