Key learning outcomes 1) To acquire all necessary competencies for education of the pupils with pedagogical and psychological background 2) To obtain skills and knowledge in scientific background of the nature science education (i.e. essentials of cell and molecular biology, genetics, physiology, anthropology and human biology, geology, diversity of organisms, essentials of evolution of organisms, ecology, nature conservation, application biology in the plant cultivation) 3) To create laboratory and other skills for field and school garden education with respect to theoretical basis of the studies. 4) To create theoretical knowledge and skills in the field of didactics of natural history and educational algorithms or methods (in the classroom, lab or field) including the creation (participation on creation) of the educational programmes and leading of the gifted pupils 5) In combination with all mentioned approaches: to manage (autonomously and/or under supervision) the solving of the scientific problem/project in the logical order (recherché, simple research/monitoring of the biological, geological or educational events - their analyses, evaluation, interpretation or application in the pedagogical use, discussion and generalization) and to write the original paper or master thesis.

Specific provisions for recognition of prior learning Admitting based on applicant's BSc Examination results from biology, alternatively on BSc Thesis (if it includes the area of "teacher training in natural history")and average study scores achieved in BSc studies of Teacher Training Course in Natural Hist.

Occupational profiles of graduates with examples The graduate is fully qualified to teach biology in higher primary schools. Apart from the educational competencies, the graduate is also trained to design and coordinate the Framework Education Programme, school projects, sex-, hygiene- and anti-drug education, coordinate environmental education, and design and care for a school estate. The graduate is prepared for individual work in respect of organising, managing and implementing education in primary school as well as in non-formal activities involving earth science. The knowledge of scientific background in geology and organism biodiversity allows for the graduate's employment in some areas of the civil service (e.g. assistant at the Department of Environment).
